We hold 2 I.D.P.A. matches a month on the second and fourth Sunday of the month year round except rain. We start at 9:00 am Please help us start on time by arriving a few minutes early. We finish about 12:30. We usually have 4-6 scenarios and 15-20 people. We recently completed a $12,000 range renovation to make more shooting bays, now we shoot more and wait less. I often shoot more than 100 rounds with a revolver (no extra shots) so bring plenty of ammo.

We charge $10.00 to shoot. You do not have to a member of our club to shoot our matches. Active duty military shoot IDPA free. You do not have be an IDPA member to shoot with us. IDPA wants you to join but understands you will want to see if it is right for you before shelling out your cash. If you are new to IDPA when you come to shoot with us tell me or one of the others in charge, you are new and just want to see and do it a few times. We, or preferably I, will take you off to the side and make sure to let you know all the safety and gun handling techniques, so you will be comfortable. We want you to enjoy shooting with us and be excited to come back. IDPA thinks after 2-3 matches you should join. You decide. For more info on IDPA visit their web site at:      http://www.idpa.com/

We have defensive rifle and shotgun scenario’s after our matches held on the 4th Sunday. You do not have to shoot rifle or shotgun if you do not want to, but so far even the people who don’t have the rifle / shotgun borrow one from one of us to shoot the course. Any legal center fire will work, most people bring AR-15s, SKS / AK 47 clones, as long as they fire semi auto (not full auto as our club will not allow the use of full auto.) I have also seen a camp 9mm + H&K 45 and I sometimes bring a Beretta Storm in 40 S&W.  It is much the same as IDPA with longer ranges.

Any defensive shotgun should do the trick. Most people use birdshot, some bring slugs and buckshot. Keep in mind, if you don’t have a shotgun you can borrow one (bring your own ammo) (12 gauge) or if you choose not to shoot shotgun that’s OK too.

Also on the first, third and fifth Sunday year round except for rain, we hold bowling pin matches (lots of fun and lots of trigger time!!). We start at 9:30 am and are over by noon. Our matches are two shooters side by side, 5 pins each on a table at about 35 feet, first shooter to clear all pins off his table wins. Deadwood doesn't’t count!  We shoot 5-7 strings depending on how many shooters are there. (Usually 10-20)  We have a revolver class and an auto class. Most of us shoot both, as it is only $5.00 to shoot a class. The minimum round count is about 50 rounds for each class, some use more. Heavy bullets seem to work better than fast but that is just my opinion. We pay first, second and third place. We also shoot lucky target at the end of the pin shoot. 5 shots into a poker target, best hand wins! $$
